When setup is complete, you can test it by publishing an IVT (Beyond 20/20 table file) and viewing the file in WDS. For this example we will publish the file Sample.ivt, which is provided in the default root publishing folder of your site.

Opening your site:

To open your site, enter its internet address in a web browser.

The address of your site takes the following form:

If you are performing this test on the server machine, you can use "localhost" as the server name. For the example site as created in the setup instructions in this document, we will use the address http://localhost/Site1

The site opens in your web browser. The Public reports folder is empty.

Signing is as administrator:

We will add our sample file to Public reports. First we must sign in to an account that has publisher privileges, such as the default administrator account.

  1. Click the Sign in button on the toolbar and sign in using the administrator password. (If your site uses a custom database - that is, if your users are authenticated against the list of WDS users - the user name and password are both set to "administrator." You should change the password as soon as possible.)

Publishing an IVT:

There are several options for choosing files to publish to your site. For this example we will use Browse for files to add

  1. Click the Publish files button on the toolbar. The Publish files page appears. Click Browse for files to add.

  2. The Browse for files to add page appears. Notice that Quick publish is selected by default. Click Choose files.

  3. The Choose files page appears. Select Sample.ivt and click Next.
  4. The Options page appears. We will accept the defaults. Click Next.

  5. The Choose owners dialog appears. Select Public reports and click Next.
  6. The Choose target folders page appears. We will accept the default. Click Next.
  7. The Results page appears. Click Done.

Viewing the published report in WDS:

  1. Click the Reports button on the toolbar. The report appears in the Public reports folder.

  2. To open the report, click its name. The report is displayed in table form.
